If you did, good! Our goal at Day MyLane is to celebrate diversity and heritage by sparking curiosity and turning heads— so we are glad we turned yours.

So, what does Day MyLane mean?
Day MyLane in the literal sense is a twist on the Nigerian Pidgin English saying “Dey my lane”, which itself is a version of the English phrase, “stay in my lane”. Our brand name is the perfect embodiment of our company's passion for celebrating culture and language across cultural lines. By selecting unfamiliar names for our brand and product captions, we hope to encourage you to be curious about the world, to introduce you to new cultural trends, and to inspire you to celebrate your own heritage with confidence.

2. Day MyLane is a black owned brand!

Chika, the inspiring woman behind Day MyLane born to Igbo parents and based in the Washington DC metro area. As the Creative director of Day MyLane, she has an distinct enthusiasm for heart warming and memorable experiences coupled with a wonder for African cultural trends and heritage. Through Day MyLane, Chika provides a platform for individuals like yourself, to connect with people from all corners of the diaspora; a joint community to share stories, highlight heritage, and make your voice heard.

3. Day MyLane clothing captions are not only in Nigerian Pidgin English

While several of Day MyLane’s products sport creative spins on traditional and trendy Nigerian Pidgin English phrases, Day MyLane also has items that rock phrases from other languages— shout out to all the linguaphiles out there. Although Day MyLane’s products have a heavy focus on Nigerian culture— a homage to the founders Igbo heritage— the overarching theme of the brand is to celebrate multiculturalism.
